I can't really say as I am in pretty good health ( at least I thought so!) I did find out I have type 2 diabetes..but so far in four wweks of taking oral meds and changing my eating and drinking habits I now average the blood sugar levels of a non diabetic..and the newest DOT regs will allow a driver to apply for an exemption if on insulin as long as they can show 30 days of diabetes control being effective..so as long as I do not let the diabetes progress to the insulin stage I am fine plus even if it does, moswt likely I can get the exemption. However, in just four weeks as a result of the dietary changes..Iand the excercise of 'throwing boards' ( pallets ) on the loading docks, I feel better than I have in 20 or so years!! And I have lost about 11 lbs too! If I drop another 10-15 lbs I will be at the ideal weight for my height.. 225 lbs 6' 4"...Other than the diabetes, my blood pressure and other vitals arein check. So the medical certificate was nor problem at least for two years!!
