I went to Kanter and looked up engine kit prices and they aren't bad. I know i could spend less buying the parts here and there individually, but the convenience of one purchase is nice. My only concern would be get low quality timing gears and pistons, cheap rings, etc. I have never bought enigne parts from them so I don't know what they are selling.
