Good luck and be prepared for some loooong hours on the road and a lot of miles. I had my first paying truck driving job when I was 17 between my Junior and Senior years in high school. I made a $1.50 an hr as opposed to watching my buddies buck bales for a buck an hr. Little single axle rig but I had been driving them since I could see under the top of the steering wheel. Not really driving then but steering while Dad and Grandad loaded hay. Mostly Dad yelled at me for jerking the clutch, LOL. I drove semi for several years before I got hired in the Fire Department and then I drove fire truck for most of my career. Most of that time and to this day I still drive semi part time. I work most Tuesdays and Thursday about 8 months of the year. I refuse to throw iron anymore and winter steelhead fishing is on then. They keep telling me I could get my own truck if I would work more but I'm not gonnna do it=)

Here is a link to where I work. My bro is the #1 driver(started in '72)and the top picture is his rig. Double stack Mack with no shack on the back. I have pulled all the combinations on those pages. Well, not really since the curtain van(s) I pulled was a set of Rocky mt. doubles.

If you get into the Portland area, I am not far from Troutdale on I-84. Let me know and I will send my phone # and I can come on over. Our main truck yard is just on the NE corner of the Troutdale airport. That is the one I run out of.
