Alright after much to do I believe we have all the nessecary info to proclaim an ARIZONA RALLY! We will be holding it on the first weekend of August the 5th and 6th in Williams AZ. I was thinking about calling it The Grand Canyon Power Wagon Run but since US forest service has informed me that the closest we can get a vehicle to the actual rim is aboout 50 yards,and they absolutly will not let us drive into the Canyon itself (the trail is wide enough Just not enough room on the switchbacks to make a 180 degree turn to go down the second one) I changed my mind.
I have a few "FOR FUN" contests set up but still have to try to get some sponsers to try to get some prize donations together. So far we got Pepsi and KC Hilites. I'm not a drinker of products with Hopps and Barley but there are a couple of distributors here if someone were to let me know what is the beveredge of chioce I can contact them and see about sponsership (Bud Coors Miller).
Also if there are any of you who have orginized a rally before and can offer some helpful suggestions I would appreciate input.
If anyone Who is going or planning on going has activities that they would like to do let me know and I will attepmt to put them together. Also let me know if you would be willing to help out and in what way. Remember this is the First so it's going to be a little rough, but I hope we can all have lots of fun and make some good memories.
I have a friend who owns a t-shirt company (silk screen) who can make some shirts and a logo for the rally. If your planning on comming let me know how many are comming and what sizes you will need. The more we get the less the cost per shirt. I am planning on selling the shirts at cost. The sizes can vary from child small to adult XXXXLL (that's my size by the way.) If you want to Preorder some shirts and pay in advance that would be nice also. I never have turned down money in advance in my life and will refund if you pay more then the end cost will be. Do we want Dodge Blue or Hemi Orange or just plain ol white shirts? No difference in terms of cost for the colors versus white.
I have so many other things about what we can do and have, but I need some input as to what everyone going wants to do or see at the rally. So let me know! Email or post to the forum I check at least once a day. Hope to see you all in the Canyon!!!!
Maybe next year we can have a site about the rally as well. I will be advertising here in Phoenix and the Williams Chamber of Commerce is going to advertise for us there. So tell you friends and family. I plan on having my kids there they love old trucks and cars.
