Don't make the error I did I tried to pull a 1 ton dually on a trailer with a heavy half van. I made it but nearly lost the trailer and the truck. I only went about 18 miles that way and I had to change my drawers when I got home. If you have a welder I do recommend fabricating a tow bar out of some heavy steel and hooking it to the back end of a 3/4 or 1 ton. I have done that before and it was much easier and felt a lot safer. I pulled a 1ton van with my wife's durango about 250 miles that way and it tracked just fine looked funny but worked fine. I had also just replaced the brakes and tires on hers and removed the drive shaft on mine. And pulled from flagstaff to phoenix down the hills and thru the curves. The van was totally empty nothing but carpet on the floor and the drivers seat was the only thing in it so it was running light.
