I doubt that anyone will build a conversion set up not enough money in it.

I am just starting a conversion. Except I am doing it to my 58 Willys wagon. I am now ready to hang my diesel in the engine compartment to check the fit. It should fit well based on rough measurements. Interesting fact that I found out is that the 4BT and chevy SM are the same length from the crank pully to the front of the bell housing. The main issue in fitting the engine will be making sure the exhaust pipe can squeeze past the fire wall. I will need to make engine mounts and box in my frame wich will take time but not too difficult. The key will be to get the engine in at the correct angle.

What I need to find out soon is if I can put an overdrive in between the bell housing and the transmission. So far it looks like I will have to push the trans back only 2 to 3 inches which will be fine. THe Cevy SB that I took out was crammed into the firewall and had 7" between the fan and the radiator. I will be moving the engine forward.
