The image at the very top is of the transfer case on my '51B3PW, shown with the lower protrusion "eye hole". The middle image is of the transfer case on my '47 WDX, shown with out the "eye hole". The bottom image is of the numbers stamped into the machined surface where the protrusion was factory removed. All of the early trucks I have owned had this protrusion removed and numbers stamped on the resulting machined surface.
