Question. We got the Generator rebuilt (Chrysler 12volt) that was on Pop's PW. We put it back on and connected it back up, but while the truck is running if we pull the battery cable off the truck still dies.
The Regulator looks good on the inside and the contacts seem to be good. Might be bad, we have a new one arriving tomorrow (hopefully).
How do I check the Generator? With out the wires connected and the engine running, if I put a volt meter between the frame and either of the terminals I get approximately -1 volts.
How do I check the Regulator? When the truck is running it doesn’t pull in the relay that would seem to be required to call for charging and if you manually engage it while the engine is running, the truck still won't run when you disconnect the battery cable and there is only approximately +7 volts at each of the generator terminals.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.
