Might be leaking fuel injectors or injector or a failing IAC causing it. Does it throw a code?
If you turn the key to on the fuel pump should cycle and stop and then over to start. You should have fuel pressure right away. If your rails are empty from a leaking injector then that could explain the cranking to get it to start as it has to purge the air.
