I don't know if this has been suggested yet..but how about going to the parts house and purchasing a low priced MECHANICAL temp guage and install it's sensor where the electric one is now in the engine block then operate the truck and see what it reads?? Worth a try anyway?? This would at least verify that the existing electric guage is either good or bad??
