WI learned about anti-sieze when I was working in the oil industry I did well site duty from time to time. I got to know a few well logging engineers. Almost everyone of them used anti-sieze on the joint/threads when they were putting their logging tools together. If they didn't it was "heck" to get them apart. The well bore environment can be very corrosive. Those tools were only in the ground for a couple of hours or longer. Put high temperatures together with high pressure in a corrosive environment and you will see why they love the stuff.

I use the stuff a lot. Never thought of using it when seating bearing races and etc. Might not be a bad idea especially where water or moisture can get to it such as with wheel bearings and such.
