IF you're in Lake Havasu and having over heating problems I got 1 word of advice-MOVEOUT! It is so hot no wonder you are overheating! I mean I get hot just thinking about driving thru there. SEE! I'm sweating already! On a serious note try the thermometer thing and see If your sending unit is bad. If you installed a new sending unit and didn't replace it with a stock or OEM sending unit then the temp gauge in the dash is going to be wrong. I had the exact same problem in my truck and I am an arizona kid just like you. Try useing a after market temp gauge with the after market sensor that they provide and you might be surprized at what that does for you. When I did mine I found out that I wasn't overheating after all. and that my gauge was just not working with the sending unit. Good luck and let us know how it works
