okay..radiator shopman put in(2nd time now) new big "super radiator"as he says, put in a "sever duty" fan clutch,& a new fan for "heavy duty" as he calls it. Guess what ?? truck still over heated when I hooked up & pulled my horsetrailer! its not like we're towing the queen mary! its only 4000lbs empty,7000 with horses! truck is a 1ton, 4 wheel drive. AAAARRRGHH !! we had to put it in low and pray our way home. Im so mad.actually mad isnt the word. One mechanic says they checked for a head gasket leak & it was fine. the radiator guy did the same test & it passed for him as well. but our good friend, who's also a well established mechanic, said if a head gasket is just beginning to go,pulling a heavy load and overheating is what it will do right now. he said to go ahead and replace the head gaskets. cant hurt, right ? husband is determined to get this truck going for me,and its the only thing that hasnt been done to try & correct this problem.
any thoughts on this(again)?
