Interesting thread. I had my radiator recored and top tank turned and return hole placed into the center to fit a 251 work done in Fredricksberg, VA for under 400.oo if I remember correctly. In order to get the radiator to fit in front of the 2 inch longer 251 over 230, I had to turn the radiator mounting yoke 180 degrees. I am using an electric fan since the original water pump is too high. I am going to go to a later 251 water pump to gain more clearance for fan and bottom of top tank. Otherwise i cant use the fan with a 230 water pump. Problem is that currently the radiator is slightly slanted backwards because the yoke/radiator mounting bracket is bolted on the bottom slightly forward and the radiator leans back so filler neck fits through radiator shell filler hole. I am annoyed by this. any ideas? The radiator leans only a few degrees backwards eventhough its clearly bolted to reversed radiator bracket. But the lean is noticable. Any help appreciated.
