Make sure that the neck ends up in the same place. Most shops are not not concerned about this as it does not matter on modern vehicles as the neck does not stick through the body skin.
The key measurement is to keep the neck in the same relative position to the mounting bracket on the cowl. That way the neck will line up with the hole in the body skin.
When I had mine done, I did not mention this to the shop and it was a real close fit. Much closer than original.
