Hi Dave,
I have a 54 m-37 that I recently aquired from a Fire Dept. They have another one and decided to use this one for a parts truck. I dont know why, as there is ZERO rust and the whole truck is really strait, and has an arctic cap. They took the tranny, the transfer case and a bunch of smaller items. I have aseveral NP-420s and about a dozen NP-200 transfer cases frm Power Wagons that I would like to use. I thought my 2 options on the tranny would be to either swap the top with an actual M-37 top to give me the stubby shifter, or cut off the Power Wagon shifter and drill it out for the extensions locking bolt. Also to replace the driveshaft flanges to match up with the military ones. I am still deciding whether to take on this project or to just sell it and let someone else do an easy re-assembly and have a good strait M-37.
Thanks,
Tim
