I dont know why dodge wont make a full size suv -period. there is a shiek in the mideast that had a suburban tail grafted onto a ram diesel. it later proved to be similar to the adventurer concept that failed to launch. the suburban / yukon market is big and the dodge would fare well in my opinion by offering the cummins option. im thinking about the gw because it is smaller than my yukon xl and was made for tons of years - lots of parts. adapting a pre emissions one (id use the chassis for the vi) and dropping later sheetmetal on it would be my plan. id use a cummins 4bt or 6bt and take advantage of the ability to run ac and an airpump (from a 6bt) for onboard air without making goofy bracketry. the 4 would be an easy fit (if you could wake it up enough) and the auto in the gw is chrysler anyway so that would be easy. a 205 transfer case was stock and the axles are heavy enough and are higway geared already. i like the looks and the buy in for a rust free starer is low. i think it could be done nicely for about 15k all in. i would like to run it on diesel / vegetable oil as my small part in sticking it to the man!!! i ll check with advance adapters etc to see if they offer mounts. the jeep world is conversion friendly.
