Back during WW II, the Japanese took control of the world's rubber supply. Ole Frank gave a royal edict saying that we need to figure out a way to make fake rubber. We did.
Since that time, more and more, corporations have taken control of what happens in our country (not any socialist crap). There have been many new inventions to replace the internal combustion engine, and also alternative fuels. Then they suddenly disappear and the inventor dies.
Back in the 60's there was turbine engines (one almost won at Indy). Dodge even was ready to produce some (called the Fireball). Shell bought the 2 prototypes and destroyed them. Nothing more to be said about turbines.
What I'm sayin is if the powers that be were really serious about this, we wouldn't be complaining about it now. Maybe they're (the pwoers that be) right in sayin that we the people are to stupid to control our own fate?
