You run a solid fan at highway speeds you may end up with a fan thru the hood. Most likely you wont even be able to turn it at highwayspeeds because your belt will not turn it. Clutch fans lock up when needed and unlock when not needed. Never seen a roundy round racer use a solid fan while racing. They are at high rpms all the time. Its probably a performance flex fan. Most are going to electric fans anyways. Squeek a few mores horses out of the engine by not turning a fan.
