Since the Service Manual says "Do not change adjustment of the (push rod) end piece..." I suspect you do not have a manual. I suggest you check out the detailed brake adjustment information on my Kempner POWER WAGON Museum site. Click on the Museum link, scroll down to "Brakes" in the Technical Support section, print out the brakes portion of the manual and use that information to adjust brake shoes, pedal play, and other aspects of the brake system that affect the most critical safety function on your truck.
