"The "B" series big block evolution went like this; 350-361-413-426-440. All are the same block.

They are all not the same block. B block engines were the 350,361 and 383 and 400.

RB engines which had the raised deck were 413,426 wedge and 440.


They all have the same bell housing and share heads and front motor stuff, exhaust manifolds,starters, distributors.

The intakes were different on the RB engines as they were wider.

Norm is right in saying there may be pilot bushing issues but the bell housing should bolt up if it fits a 383 it should bolt to the 413.


You could have exhaust manifold and oil pan and oil pickup tube issues when you take the motor home 413 and put it into a smaller truck or car.
