Well, if it is the later even fire, finding a standard transmission flywheel is a real bitch. After a couple of years of hunting, I finally found one. The oddfire (prior to 1977) that jeep used is a rough runner. I have mine in a 1984 Toyota pickup and it is a powerhouse. However with the wrong flywheel it had a huge vibration problem. I haven't had a chance to change flywheels yet. I suspect that it could be done, but you would have to make a tranny adapter to go from a GM bellhousing to the PW tranny. Actually at one time I was going to put a 231 in a 2wd 1954 townie panel, but needed the room and money to build my shop so the townie got sold. My 231 has an edelbrock manifold, 600 cfm Holley and a Neilson ground RV cam. Someone wants a project of a mean little 2wd street truck $1600 will buy it, you change the flywheel. Have that much in the engine alone
