Thanks! Very helpful as shop manual doesn't give length of new pin.(I have quite a few little pcs. created, I think, by leading end of pinion gear chomping off pin as it came around sliding out of case). I had not considered such a straight forward solution.
Pin remaining in case has been peened in and edges of case around holes of those missing show no evidence of punch tracks.
I saw your "heads up" about ebay diff. bearings but am going to gamble on what I have.
