on a ww2 3/4 ton Dodge to be exact.

I am retro-fitting a take off ww2 winch setup onto a 3/4 ton non-winch frame.

I wish to be as close to factory positioning of the winch location on the frame as possible.

My base line is adding the 10" worth of add on frame rails, cut off from said donor ww2 3/4 ton truck.

So far, I got the extended frame rails on, tacked lightly.

I put all the winch pieces together and it seems just fine.. MY referencec point is the locating bolt on the rear winch cross member angle iron.

All photos I see puts this bolt directly on top of the front spring hanger bolt. Straight up.

If thats the case, I am right on.

BUT... the factory drawing I have shows the front bumper to spring hanger bolt at 16 3/32 .
I am a bit more than that, like 16 1/2"

Will this added amount (1/4" to 3/8" more) be enough where the PTO shaft wont reach?

So, what I want is a photo of someones rig with factory installed winch to verify I am correct before going further.

Perfect photo would be a dead side on shot...

Any other pix while your at it would be great too!!

Hate to dicsover a interference with grill or the PTO driveshaft is too short when I am done with this!

My question is
