Coil has + and - connections, dist should match batt ground

You may have a truck that is still wired for + ground. Does the Ammeter read (-) when you turn on the lights? Then it's got a battery hooked up correctly for the ammeter. The little wires on the coil shold be hooked (-) to dist if battery is (-) ground.

Initial resurection is the most fun of owning an old truck.
