Russ, I do not think there are any left in Casper but there were a bunch in Utah that did not sell-also some in Montana-stop in anytime!! They make it pretty plain what engine the vans have but you may have to dig a little to find info on transmission-many of the later vans have turbo 400s. I suspect they almost have the hydroboost brake system but something to check. Dont know either whether they all have power steering.
Actually I drove the van home in a very strong cross wind-was more like sailing! Averaged about 50 mph and burned a bunch of gas!
There are trucks in the northern states so someone from Canada should be able to find one near the border.
The van is so nice that for the short term I may just use it to haul stuff around locally. When it comes time to jerk the engine, I hope to sell the body to someone who wants to put in another engine. It would also make a really nice enclosed trailer if one took the time to put a frame under it-maybe an old carhauling trailer??
The website seems a little hard to navigate but maybe I am just to used to ebay!!
I hope others who go this bib route will report their experience, and how the engine fit in their rig. I have been trying to find Paul from NY write up on putting a 4bt in his PW but havenot found it yet-does this forum have a search option??
