((Yesterday I received 2 pairs of JC Whitney driving lights, part number 490430, cost $15.99 per pair and S&H for both pair was $8.99. These use 55 watt H-3 12-volt halogen bulbs.))

((Several months ago, I scored a pair of 6-volt H-3 55 watt halogen bulbs at the local Wal Mart, on sale for about $4.00 each. My plan is to pull the 12-volt bulbs out of a pair of the JCW driving lights and plug in the 6-volt units and see what happens. The 6-volt bulbs are made by Vector and for their hand held spotlights, models VEC124 and VEC127. The Vector part number is VEC198. I found mine in the flashlight area. I can send pictures to anyone who wants to e-mail me with "Cowl Lights" in the subject line, otherwise I'll delete unknown e-mails.))

The above is from my previous post. I finally got one of the JCW driving lights apart last night and found that the H3 bulb is like a small sealed beam with integral reflector. The actual H3 bulb can't be changed, so replacing the 12 volt bulb with the 6 volt bulb can't be done. I'll keep looking to see what may work.
