Well, it just goes to show that watching Infomercials at 6:45am isn't always a bad thing. Got hooked on watching a "Readystrip" infomercial, dragged in by the "And if you call within the next 10 minutes, we'll send you the entire kit for just 10 dollars!!!" I have been looking for something to try on my M56's aluminum cab and doors. So, I get up, get on the phone and after spending 20 minutes with a very fast talking (but pleasant)young lady, (who must have seen me coming from a mile away) I had spent 100 bucks! But I got the deluxe kit, a gallon of stripper, can send it back if I don't like it, blah, blah, blah! Plus it'll be there in less than 4 days!!! Yeah, I know...Andy tells me I got taken, deep. So, the stuff shows up, 3 days later, and I'm dying to try it out. My test subject is the roof hatch, I paint on a coat on a spot maybe 4" x 4", and leave it overnight(the stuff needs to sit for 4 to 24 hours). Can't get to the shop until the next afternoon, but Andy says he'll check on it. He calls me up to tell me that I have bare aluminum showing after he scrapes off the stuff with a scrap of wood. Now I'm dying to get there and see it!! I finish scraping the spot and polish it off with the spray cleaner and scotchbrite pad and it's shining like new aluminum!!! I then proceed to paint the rest of the hatch, leave it overnight again and go back the next day. Within 45 minutes after I get back to it, the entire hatch is clean. When I say scraping, I mean I took a plastic spreader, and literally just pushed the paint(4 layers at least of highway truck orange and black plus the OD) off in strips. Am in the process of getting the photos on Imageevent, so you guys can see it!!
