Being a city boy, I can't say as I know much about cattle. He looks serious in that picture too, but the other, 2 guys head to head, nope, not a place for me to be. I do know a bit about dogs though, and if 2 males were standing like that, even with no female in heat, there'd be trouble.
With that being said, when I was living up in the Skagitt Valley, my dog chased 2 calfs thru a fence they had broken thru. I guess with him into the chase and me being far from him, he didn't stop when I called him.
He chased em back to the herd, but there was this BIG bull that came out from the herd and got inbetween the calfs and him. The bull was snorting and pounding the ground as my dog stopped and watched him.
Then the bull charged him, and he charged back. I knew he was a dead dog and I closed my eyes cause I didn't want to see him flying thru the air. Next I hear this loud Moo. I look to see my dog biting the bulls butt, and chasing him back to the herd, then running the herd all over the place.
My buddy and I ran out there to grab my stupid dog because I didn't want the owner shooting him as he musta cost that guy some money. He must have ran 40 lbs off each of those cows, and they were beef cows, and that's my ONLY expeience with cattle.
