WDX winch pto install and brake pedal

This is relayed to me verbally from elsewhere so I don't have a first hand view of the problem - but this is a WDX but with an NP420 transmission. The pto was installed after and the pto and brake pedal bracket are resting against each other. Since the bracket is mounted to the frame, we foresee problems with frame flex vs motor/trans. Since this is not a stock WDX install, we're wondering what is different between a crashbox/pto installation and the later np420/pto installation regarding the relationship to the brake pedal bracket? We're thinking of grinding down the bracket just to get a bit more clearance. Was there a different brake bracket used with the different trans/pto installations? It feels good to post a real truck question instead of some drivel.
