How much Washing Soda?

With warm weather forcast for this weekend finally going to try my hand at electrolitic rust removal. Reviewed the posts I saved and found conflicting ratios of washing soda to water....one states 1 lb to 1 gallon....another says 1 tbls for each gallon and a third states 1 lb for every 4 gallons?? How much have others used?...Thanks
