Great pic, but mine doesn't look like that. The levers on mine are mounted on a bracket on the right frame rail. Just to the inside of where the passengers feet would be. The front lever controls 4WD and the rear is Hi/Lo. They pull shafts straight in and out of the front side of the transfer case.
Does that make any sence to anyone ?
