Spraying into a engine with glow plugs is very risky. However we have probably all done it more than once and got away with it.
Use extreme "Caution" here.
I would check for current at the glow plugs with a test light when you first turn on key.
If theres power then to the Glow plug your controller is working. Otherwise replace controller.
I would change all the plugs, as this is usually the problem. All you need is, more than two, or three, out and the engine will be hard, if not impossible to start.
Take wire off of one plug at a time,and connect a test light to the Pos post on battery. Use probe on test light to touch the terminal on the plug where the wire connects, not the wire. if it lights the plug is good. TGP
