I have installed two of the Allison systems. One on my 48 Plymouth coupe (12 years ago) and the other on my 49 Dodge B1C. Installation is straight forward. A plastic shutter is placed under the rotor. Only problem is you may need to grind down the shutter with a file and sandpaper to clear the cap (it's plastic, takes 5 minutes). The only other mod is you can grind off the alignment nipple for the old points assembly so the C shaped emitter/collector sits flat on the distributor base. (another 5 minutes with a drimel tool). It's not required. Make sure both the cent. and vacuum advances are working. After you set it up you never touch it again. Rest of the install is cake, less than a Saturday afternoon.
