Rebuilding this rear end on a WDX and putting in the seals and gasketts. I have the book from VPW but the section on axle and brakes seal replacement is about as usefull as a fart in a windstorm. I seem to have come up with a set of seals that dont have a home in there. Also, the brake backing plate is rivited on to the axle housing flange. do these rivits need to be cut out to put in a seal? In the manual ('40-'47 Dodge Trucks) it shows these rivits as being bolts. What gives? Thanks for the help.
