Synthetic Oil ?

Do any of you have experience with synthetic oil? What about Mobile 1?

I have my 230 CID engine apart and am planning to run detergent oil after reassembly. I read the "Best of the Forum" on detergent and non-detergent oil but didn't see anything in there about Synthetic Oil.
