Better to get the 4.89 differential gears. That slows down the whole drive train for a given speed. OD just reduces engine/transmission rpms. Your transfer case, drivelines, etc. can be turning past redline.

I have worked up a spreadsheet showing engine rpm vs road speed for various axle ratios.
If you can read a Microsoft Excel 5 worksheet, I would be glad to attach it to an e-mail to anyone that wants it. Att. Joe Comoch: is there a way to post it to the forum so everyone can have it?
