12-30-97, drove and purchased my first M-37. Drove about 150 miles from L.A.
to San Diego, at night (cheated death again); alright a friend followed in my
other car.
This is a '52 m-37 with door spare tire mount, front disc brakes, full canvas,
pioneer tools, turn signals, troop seats, 5 lug wheels, and 230 fire-breathing
cubic inches, with 5.83 gears.
Iwant to thank Joe Cimoch for this page, Dan Pinkham, Phil Kern, Mark Coffin,
Ernie Cornwell, Jack Martin in Tuscon (the people I called and talked with).
Thanks to the others that contribute questions and answers. Many were the
same thoughts I had. I see names Joe Cimoch, Dan Pinkham, Eric Hodecker,
Garrison, Gerry Zell, and many more.
I've called Stockton Wheel for a catalog for custom wheels, 16 X ? I'm thinking
about a 38 inch dia. tire. This will help my top speed problem of 45MPH! I'm
not sure if I want to get the 4.89 gears. I know this subject has been beat into
the ground, I read ALL the archives ( 9 hrs ).
I would like to hear from Garrison about engine performance modifications.
I would like to keep the flat-head, unless there is another 6 cyl. that easily
drops in.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
