I had a similar problem with a stock 62 m-37. The truck would run great for 15 -20 minutes and then shut off like you turned it off. I pulled my hair out for 3 months going through points, capacitor, wires, plugs, carburetor, fuel pump, ... you get the picture. I bet I had the distributor out 30 times. Then I ordered a new distributor. The truck ran like new-all the time! Turns out the distributor was worn out. Too much slop in the shaft allowed the points and such to get so hot they would stop firing, or they would get so close it wouldn't fire. Worked for me! Good luck.
