De-Rusting And Painting

I have just started disassembling the body and frame parts on a 47 WDX. Not having done anything like this before, I am not sure what the best method is to clean and de-rust all the nuts, bolts, washers, etc. I also need some input on the best way to treat them before re-assembling the rig. I also need suggestions as to the best paint system for the frame and undercarriage before putting it back together.
