We were just talking down at the fire hall the other night about huntin' season. It's always pronounced that way, even if you have a college education.
Time was, all the boys and the male teachers would go out at dawn on the opening day of huntin' season, to try to get the unsuspecting buck. (The deer were not privy to the news that huntin' season was upon us.)
After a quick session in the woods, we all would retire to the school house. We would stack the shotguns in the schoolroom closets, and get on with the book learnin'.
At the end of the day, an armed brigade of teenagers would leave the school house. Can you imagine the riot amongst the liberals that would occur these days, if that tradition had continued?
