Hi Paul. I have bought a several sets of custom made U bolts for Jeeps and W-Series Dodges over the years. The spring shop produced U bolts seem to stretch a lot when tightened and appear to be bent from a low quality hot roll steel. So I see your point in not trying to use them again after having been removed once. But, I have used the same set of original Dodge forged U Bolts on my WDX since I bought it in 1980. They are original 1947 bolts. I have disassembled and reassembled them several times over the years and have never had any problems with them stretching or becoming loose. Are they that much better than the modern custom made ones, or am I just extremely lucky?
