I used Broadway title (www.broadwaytitle.com)
In Pa you go to a local car dealer and have them check the VIN with the state DMV. If the vehicle is in their records they will give you the name of the current owner.
Broadway requires that you do this to be sure there is no title on record. Their service only works if there is no title on record.
If there is no owner on record in your state for the vehicle you download a form from broadway, fill it out, have it notarized, and mail it along with about 150 dollars to broadway.
This form is actually a bill of sale stating that you are selling your truck to broadway. You decide the price.
Broadway can take this form for any vehicle older than 25 years and get a title for it from the state of Alabama. They provide you with the title and a bill of sale selling it back to you. They sell it back to you at the price you selected. In Pa you must pay state tax on this amount.
Then you take this to your local car dealer or state DMV and have the title transfered to a title from your state.
I did this with no problems (except it cost me 150 and the Pa transfer and license fees.)
