Unfortunately, to paint and bodywork a FFPW correctly requires alot of disassembly. Now add in all the fire apparatus and the larger body of this vehicle(dont forget the diamond plating, silver paint). now reassemble it all without scratching it. If your farming it out, your in 15-17 thousand dollars in a good paint job(not show quality, but very good) and assembly. How about the engine? 3-5k for really doing an outstanding color correct detailed flat six? how about all the seals on all the drive train and maybe some replacement parts as needed (axle bearings, brakes etc) add another 7-8 thousand. That front pump sits out there like a wart doesnt it..better make it look as perfect as possible 2 thousand to disassemble detail and reassemble. rebuild that wasted front seat assembly?$500, send out that gauge cluster and steering wheel to be reconditioned..$1500. Have a wiring guy who knows 40's 50's era wiring and switches(because most of those switches will have to be rebuilt) replace the entire "custom wiring harness" created for the fire engine portion of the truck$2500. Looks like there is some parts missing on the truck that are probably brass..or oak; they must be correct if you wanna do it right, price on that is "unknown" and your fire engine will remain unfinished until you find em. oh yeah..rechrome all chrome plated parts...$3500 easy.
grand total for your unfinished fire engine
a cool $40,000
oh yeah dont forget the purchase price too. add that to the 40,000.
Anyway, dont take offense, just my 2 cents.
