Electronic Iginition

I have an all orginal 1966 200 PW with a 318 poly. Its not very fuel efficient. If I put electronic iginition in the truck, will it improve fuel economy and proformance? Will it lower of value of the truck? What brand iginition is best and about what will it cost. Any response is welcome.
