Hello Uncle Authur:

On the NP205's they are quite finky and have a real close tight shift pattern. Plus they being gear-to-gear, oftentimes you gotta go backwards and forwards to get them to shift to get the gears to mesh right. I have NEVER had a 205 that shifted easy..and I have ran them in Dodge, Ford, GM, and IHC pickups. Something that might help you is to crawl under and where the shift rods go into the T-case, take some fine grit sand paper and wire brush, clean those rods and lubricate with grease or anti-sieze...Its works. As a General rule, I shift in an out of 4X4 standing still. I always back up before I go forward and it helps everything 'unlock'

As for the twin stick setup, I like the older Jeep setups, I like how they are setup. I looked on ebay today at twin stick shifters, and seen that some companies offer a twin stick conversion for a Dana 300 transfer case which was a later Jeep Case. I like how those are made, and might see about adapting one...but chances are,I will make my own...It might not be pretty, but it will work. If I go that route, I will send you pics and details on it.

Other than my old truck giving me problems, everything else is fine..Just too cold and too snowy..Hope all is well with you.
