Lube, let me know if you come up with something to do the two-handled thing.
Mine (1991) has a weirdness that sometimes won't allow me to get out of 4WD unless I stop, or throw in the clutch. I think mine is due to lack of use of the 4WD, rather than wear, as I seldom use the 4WD, except when plowing or cruising the beach. (about 1000 miles out of a total of 170,000 at this point)
