With 4.89's and a 'good' 230, you can run 50-55 all day long. Also, you will have good power for most off road. PW's were never designed for high road speed. Yet, the 230 will take you most anywhere off road you want to go. Thats what they were built for and have done for all these years. With that said, you can also upgrade to a 318/360 quite easy for even more power. Or more challanging, you can consider diesel power. When going with a V8 or Diesel, you should also do Power Steering, Power Disk Brakes and possible suspension upgrades, you already have the 4.89's, and you may also consider upgrading the transmission.

Most on the forum have stock power, Some have V8's and a few have Diesel. We are all here to help.

Its your truck, and you will have to decide if its going to stay all stock or be upgraded. Good Luck either way !
Paul
