I'm curious about your reasoning. Why would a rubber mat make things worse? I got the impression that the static was passing from the machine to Chris and from Chris to the ground. If he has a rubber mat to stand on, it seems as though that would prevent the passage of static from Chris to the ground? Help me out. JH
