I've currently been doing alot of this. My headlight buckets turned out very well.

First and foremost, set it up outside so the Hydrogen can vent. Second, write up a sign that says No Smoking.

Temperature doesn't effect it, other than to avoid freezing the sodium carbonate/water solution. Just make sure to brush clean the waste anode and make sure you have a good positive contact on both the positive and negative terminals.

Don't be afraid to let it cook for a while. I come home from work, put a new piece in then change it out the next day same time, then wash it off with water and a scrub brush, then cook it in the oven at 300 degrees to minimize any hydrogen embrittlement and ensure its nicely dry.

Use your head, think twice-act once around the hydrogen gas.
